Read long English PDFs in your own language.
Upload a research paper, a report or a textbook. Start each chapter with a short summary in your language, then read on and open the English source wherever you want to check it.
- Chapter summaries first
- Figures kept as images
- Source one tap away
The first 3 pages of a psychology sample are ready in Traditional Chinese. No sign in, no waiting.
Free plan includes 20 translated pages a month. Also on macOS (Apple Silicon), Windows and in the browser.

Get the shape of a chapter first. Check the source sentence when it matters.
Read a long English document in three steps
You do not paste a whole book into a chat box. You see the outline first, then choose where to go deeper.
- 1Read the summary
Each chapter starts with a summary in your language that traces back to the original text.
- 2Choose a passage
Tap the part you want and keep reading in your language. When a sentence looks off, open the author’s English.
- 3Review if you want
Notes stay where you read. Key points, quizzes and flashcards are there when you open them.
What stays exactly as in your PDF
- Figures and tables
They are not rewritten. You see the original image from the PDF beside the paragraph that refers to it.
- Specialist terms
A term keeps its English form where it first appears, and later chapters reuse the same translation.
- Your file
The PDF stays on your device. Only the text of the section you choose is processed.
Who it is for
ReadPilot is for people who read English papers, reports and textbooks for study or work: graduate students, medical and nursing students, professionals and knowledge workers. It is built for long documents you return to, not for a quick look at a one page note.
Quality has been checked most on medical text. In other subjects the reading is useful, but check specialist terms against the source sentence.

Frequently asked questions
- Which languages can I read in?
- Reading output can be Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, English or Japanese. The app interface is mostly in Traditional Chinese for now, so menus and buttons are not yet fully localised.
- Can I try it without signing in?
- Yes. The first 3 pages of a psychology sample book are ready in Traditional Chinese, with no sign in and no waiting.
- Are tables and figures translated?
- No. Figures and tables stay as the original images from your PDF, placed beside the relevant text. Only the running text is translated.
- Does my PDF leave my device?
- The PDF file stays on your device. Only the text of the section you choose to read is sent for processing, and the file itself is not stored or indexed.
- Is it free?
- There is a free plan with 20 translated pages a month. Pages that fail do not count, and reading the same page again is not charged twice.
- Is the translation equally good in every subject?
- No. Medical text has been checked the most. Other subjects are readable too, but check specialist terms against the source sentence, which is one tap away.
Try one page before you decide
Open the sample, read a chapter summary, and tap a paragraph to see the source. That shows you quickly whether this way of reading suits you.
